1965 marked several firsts for the U.S.

President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in for his first term, Sonny & Cher released what would become their first number-one single and Chevrolet was now offering the Corvette with a big-block engine option. Gone were the fuel-injection options, with Chevrolet adopting a no replacement for displacement attitude and offering a 396ci big block pushing 425hp. In order to make the new engines fit, the 1965 models received a funnel-shaped air scoop spanning the length of the hood that later became known as the power blister, a precursor to the popular stinger-style hoods of 1967. Also available for the first time were the iconic side exhaust pipes and heavy-duty Rock Crusher M-22 transmission.
This particular 1965 Corvette features its original 396/425hp engine backed with a 4-speed transmission. When it underwent a complete restoration in 2009, it was refinished in its original combination of Nassau Blue with blue interior and a new white soft-top.
